A radon inspection is a type of inspection that tests a home and immediate surroundings for unsafe levels of radon, a radioactive gas. Radon gas can be present as a result of the natural breakdown of trace levels of uranium present in soil in some parts of the United States (somewhat common in the northeast). If radon gas is found to be above the EPA acceptable level, steps to remediate (i.e. remove the presence of radon) the radon level can be suggested.
