A final walkthrough is a cursory physical inspection of a property by its prospective buyer as close to the closing date as possible (and as indicated in some real estate contracts). Basically, it's a way to verify that what a buyer thought he or she was buying at the beginning of the process is in more or less the same condition the day of closing.
